Ms. Betty Ligon Johnson, nee: Betty Ann Ligon, of Upper Marlboro, MD, daughter of the late Deacon Calvin Earnest and Hellen Gambrell Ligon, was born on November 18, 1953 in Belton, South Carolina. She was called into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, after falling ill with pneumonia. In the months preceding her untimely passing, she was bravely and gracefully fighting a leukemia diagnosis that was received earlier this year.
Betty was preceded into eternal rest by her parents Deacon and Mrs. Ligon; a step-mother Mrs. Hattie Smith Green Ligon; her brothers CJ Ligon, and Ralph Brown; brother-in-law Eugene Butler and a sister-in-law Idella Fisher.
Betty leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted son Brandon and doting granddaughter Sydney; one sister Ruby (Eugene) Butler; two brothers Earnest (Idella) Ligon; and Larry Ligon; sisters-in-law Shirley Ligon and Elizabeth A. (CJ) Ligon; her step-sisters Elaine Stephens; Cheryl Curry; and Jackie Dewberry.
Also left with cherished thoughts are a host of aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, friends, namely a childhood friend Melzetta Oliver, and her entire FBI Family.
