Obituary for Brenda Sam

A Heart of Gold, A Smile of pure joy, a kindness that extended to all she knew.

Brenda Hutson / Brenda Sam was born July 19, 1944, to Sybil Hyacinth Hutson and Harry Henry Hutson.

Brenda went to Roman Catholic School for her primary education, and Chatham High School and County High School for her Secondary education.

Brenda started her career as a teacher, then to Bookers as a Stenographer.

During her tenure at Bookers, she made her first trip to the United States in 1977 and spent three weeks. Her next trip was in 1983 with the intention of not returning to Guyana, but to take up residence here. Charlie and Mary welcomed her in their home and provided the support she needed to begin life here in America.

At her first employment at the Telemarketing Company, Brenda met and bonded with Gwen Kahan and Connie Gordon who introduced her to the Church of Deliverance where she found constant support and faith that set her path of Peace and Success.

Brenda worked for a few major companies in Maryland.

Marriage made in Heaven

A phone call on June 18, 1995, and an invitation to attend church on July 2,1995 rekindled an old friendship, and love delayed was not denied. On December 2, 1995, Brenda and William were married by John D. Tyree Senior at the Chapel of the University of Maryland. A marriage that lasted until God took her hand on Monday, July 25, 2022, in the presence of William.

Brenda is survived by her spouse, William Sam; Siblings Errol, Gregory, Donna and Jennifer.

She was a loving aunt to Harry Henry Hutson Jr., Ian, Keith, Aubrey, Orin, Ronald, Avril, Stanton, Donna, and Carla.

Great Aunt to Neil, Tona and many others; numerous cousins and great friends.
