Mr. Francis Oluwafolayele Fagbemi began his journey through life, born on November 05, 1949, in Ondo State. Francis was the son of the late Emmanuel Babalola Fagbemi and Beatrice Fehintola Fagbemi. Francis was extremely hard-working and dedicated to family, raising his two children, Babajide and Oluwatosin, with his wife, Francine Ibiola Fagbemi. From here, his children learned much about his honesty, discipline, spirituality, and focus on duty.

Francis attended Ondo Grammar School and obtained his first degree in agriculture at The School of Agric. He then worked at various locations in Ekiti, Nigeria. He was fortunate and made his way to the United States in 1976, where he toiled and focused on his goal of higher education. He subsequently enrolled at Howard University and obtained a Master’s in Food and Nutrition. While at Howard University, he met his beautiful wife, Francine Ibiola Azeezat Fawehinmi, and they married in 1982.

They moved back to Nigeria, where he worked for Nigeria Airways until retiring from the industry. Eventually, he and the family moved to the United States, where he pursued an Advanced Nursing degree due to his passion for service. During his years as a nurse, he tremendously impacted his patients and colleagues through his kindness and selfless service to his community.

Francis was a God-fearing man dedicating his life to spreading the word of God as a proud member of Redeem Christian Church of God Victory Temple Bowie. He belonged to the Wisdom group, Wednesday prayer group, and Evangelism. In addition, he provided wise words to the future generations whether he was at work, at church, or with family. He was a man of few words, but you had to listen when he spoke. He was often referred to as Baba Jeje (gentleman), always focusing on the goodness of people. Francis was a connoisseur of fine Nigerian cuisine while enjoying soccer, wrestling, and table tennis.

Francis Oluwafolayele Fagbemi passed away on June 7, 2022, transitioning to be with the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Francine, sons (Babajide and Oluwatosin), grandchildren, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, and friends.

He will be highly missed, and his presence is forever irreplaceable.
