Obituary for Henville Bryan

Henville syrette bryan borned on June 4, 1945, was born on the island of
Anguilla, British West Indies to the parents of Joseph Bryan and Eugenie Lake. He was the
youngest of his siblings and was raised by his grandmother, Sara Lake. During his youth, he was
a boxer in St. Marten. He remained a fan of the sport after moving to St. Thomas. Henville
(most people called him Bryan or Syrette) met the love of his life Cecile Testamark. They were
married on November 19, 1969; having three children: Gwenneth Bryan- Corujo, Lyle Bryan
and Jannina Bryan.

Henville worked as a sale person at AH Rise for many years where he was the lead salesperson.
He took pride in knowing all about exquisite jewelry and helping customers find the perfect gift.
Upon leaving, AH Rise, Henville became an entrepreneur by opening his own grocery store,
Produce Unlimited, located by Market Square. Upon his retirement, he became a taxi driver.
Henville is affectionately known for Toyland. He began selling toys at St. Thomas Carnival
when his children were young in the children village. He believed that kids should be entertained
while their parents enjoy the adult village. He expanded to selling toys in St. John, Tortola,
Virgin Gorda and Anguilla. Toyland is a family business where the entire family help sell the
toys; later his grandchildren join the family business. Toyland is still a staple booth in the
Anguilla Carnival village.

Henville Syrette Bryan was a loving person who will do anything for his family. With a big heart
and lots of laughter, his beautiful spirit will be missed. He leaves behind his adoring family and
friends. God ended his life on his birthday June 4, 2022, while living in Maryland surrounded by
his wife, daughters, and grandsons.
