On August 10, 1937, Julie Mary McDowald Acevero was born in Trinidad and Tobago, W.I. She departed this life on August 18, 2022 at the age of 85-years. Retired after may years of caring for the elderly, she settled in Baltimore County, MD until she passed.

Julie was extremely dedicated to her family and their successes relocating all to the United States of America to make all her hopes and dreams come to fruition. She thoroughly enjoyed her privacy as she relished in creating phenomenal knitted art. She loved reading, connecting with friends and family, and traveling too. A progressive woman in her time, knowledgeable and proactive both in her career and personal life. Julie Mary came, saw, engaged and conquered…while she lived.

Four brothers and two sisters have preceded her in death. Julie Mary is survived by her sisters Shirley Ampaw and Janet McDowald, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also, she is survived by her sons Michael Acevero and his wife Ingrid, Noel Acevero and his wife Celia, daughters Roseanna Lamont, and Juliette Lamont. Julie has fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter. She was fortunate to witness her children and grandchildren become Administrators, Soldiers, Lawmen, Nurses, Engineers and Legislators.

Homegoing services will be held at J. B. Jenkins Funeral Home, Inc., 7474 Landover Road, Landover, MD 20785, on September 9, 2022. Visitation begins 12:30 to 1:15 pm and the Service begins 1:15 pm to 2:30 pm. Visitation and Service will be streaming on jbjenkinsfuneralhome.com website. Also, Repast will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel, 9100 Basil Court, Largo, MD 20774 on September 9, 2022 from 2:45 pm to 6:00 pm.
