Michael Mabelle Ettaya Ekwale, our beloved brother, uncle, and friend passed away on March 30, 2022, at age 61. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Ekwale, mother and several siblings.
Uncle Michael was born in Mamfe, Cameroon. He was raised in Kumba, where he lived most of his early life and completed high school. Upon graduating high school, He went on to teach at the Catholic Secondary School in Bojongo, near Buea.
After teaching in Bonjongo for only a couple years, Uncle Michael travelled to the United States in 1986 for further education. He attended Missouri State, from where he earned a degree in Business. Uncle Michael also earned a graduate degree in business
Uncle Michael’s love for his family and friends was evident to all who knew him. He was well known for his passion to help others and for his dedication to his work.
Uncle Michael is survived by his siblings, a score of nephews, nieces, an aunt, uncle and cousins, who will miss him dearly.
