Raymond O. Overton, 67, of Takoma Park, Maryland passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2023. He was born on August 27, 1955 to the late Raymond & Thelma Overton. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Exposito Overton.

Raymond attended Coolidge High School, located in the District of Columbia. After graduation, he worked as a Resident Manager throughout the Washington metropolitan area and would later take his skills to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he worked for over 30 years, before retiring.

Affectionately known as Blue by his co-workers and friends, Raymond was charismatic, fun-loving and down to earth. As a hardcore Redskins fan, he was known to light up rooms with laughter about the victories of his favorite team. His biggest appreciation was for the little things in life: good music, good food and good company from those he loved. He more recently became fascinated with social media, where he continued to share his good humor and big energy, catching up on memories with family and friends.

His life will forever be cherished in the legacy of his children: Eric Overton (Ebony), Raymond Darnell Overton, Rasheena Gable-Williams (Christopher) and Tanaya Gable; seven grandchildren; three siblings: Robert Overton, Margaret Aikens and Joyce Green; three devoted cousins: Pattie Ann Taylor-Samuels, Glendora Brunsum and Larry Overton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
