Ronald Keith Mitchell, son of Katie Hammond and stepson of Ernest Hammond, was born September 24, 1966, in Augusta Georgia at the University Hospital. He was the oldest of three children.

Ronald received his education in public school and was a graduate of Duval High School in Lanham, Maryland. He had several workplace experiences not long after his completion of high school. He worked at the Seabrook supermarket as a cashier. Then, he worked as a maintenance person for Vesta apartment complex. His last service opportunity was at the New Carrolton Library where he served as a volunteer library associate.

Ronald at one time was an honor roll student before mental health issues disrupted his plans, however, that challenge was under control but in later years he developed other medical conditions. Ronald gave his life to Christ and joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church during his teenage years. He had the spirit of caring and was always looking out for his family. Ronald remembered everyone’s birthdays and even had birthday cards ready for his sister’s birthday on February 26, and one of his niece’s birthday on March 30th.

He loved reading and was a Washington Football fan. He enjoyed watching sport games, cooking, and dressing well. Ronald enjoyed spending time with his family and especially on holidays. He enjoyed following up with his nieces about school as well as his nephew about his college journey. Ronald was found deceased on January 18, 2023. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving mother and stepfather, one brother Barry Mitchell, and one sister Tara Hammond, one nephew Randy Hammond, and two nieces Tyanne and Heaven as well as a host of extended family members who reside out of the State.
