ST Daniel was born in Magee, Mississippi to the late Hamp Daniel and Maggie Collins on August 6, 1925. He earned his wings on January 11, 2023, at the young age of 97, at his residence surrounding by his loved ones. S T gave his life to Christ at an early age and then on January 4, 2023, he rededicated his life to Christ under Pastor Maurice Bowen. He didn’t attend church on a regular, but he had a relationship with God. He is praying man, praying for all his family and friends daily. ST was a great servant for the Lord.

He received his education in the public schools of Mississippi. ST served in the Navy as Seaman First Class from 1943 to December 30, 1945, and he was honorable discharge. ST and his lifelong companion, Mealy Davis relocated to the District of Columbia in 1960, then purchased a house in Capitol Heights. MD in 1968.

ST worked for the Washington Gas Company, then later worked from Giants Warehouse where he retired from 1995 after working for many years.

ST was well known and loved by many, and he never said anything bad about anyone. He had nicknames for everyone, like Slim, Whistle, and One Arm Bandit. He was loving father, son, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and most of all a friend, a “genuine person”. He would give you the shirt off his back. If he had a quarter, he would try to split a quarter with you. He loved to go fishing, watch Nascar races, was an excellent swimmer, and most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He also like to cook ribs on the grill for his family and friends near and far.

Daddy and Granddaddy as he was affectionately called, joins in eternal rest his daughter, Lucious Pear Logan, two sons in laws, Paul Logan and Andrew Durr, grandson. Sean Nichols, five sisters, Julia, Mary, Almeda, Rose and Ella and three brothers, Mack, Henry, and Ike.
