Obituary for Terry O. Dinkins Sr.
"Terry Orlando Dinkins Sr. transitioned from this life on September 13, 2022 at the age of 60 years old. He was born on November 8, 1961, to his proud parents Lee Roy & Celestine Dinkins, weighing 6lbs 13oz at DC General Hospital. Terry was raised by his parents in the family home in Landover, MD along with his one big sister, Benita. As a kid, he enjoyed riding bikes with his friends to the Capital Centre and visiting his aunts, uncles and cousins in Culpeper, VA.
Terry attended and completed his formal education in Prince George’s County Public Schools, and was a graduate of Parkdale High School’s Class of 1980. Upon graduation, Terry began working at DotDrug until he was employed by Stanford Paper Company in 1983. He retired from Veritiv in 2016. Terry was a workaholic so upon retiring, he began working at Canada Dry, where he could get all the discounted and expired sodas you could ever ask for.
Terry was a person who was loved and well known by a lot of people. He would bump into someone he knew almost every place he went. If there was any way he could help you he would. He had a way of leaving his mark on everyone he met. One of his favorite things to do was have family gatherings and cookouts. Everyone and their friends would come and you could feel the warmth and love amongst everyone. Terry was a brother, uncle, cousin and father to many.
There will be a viewing for family and friends Wednesday morning, September 28, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral services from 11:00am - 12:00pm, at the River of Life Church. The address is 4207 Norcross Street Temple Hills, MD 20748. The family is requesting all flower donations be sent to JB Jenkins Funeral Home by Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
