Obituary for Troy Lamont Valentine

A Moment In Time……..

Troy Lamont Valentine was born on March 21st, 1976, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Son to the late Eddie Frank Valentine, Sr. and Nikey Valentine, he closed his eyes to rest on November 5th, 2022. He was 46 years old and the baby from a family of 6 children.

Troy grew up in “Indian Queen” of Fort Washington, MD and attended the Prince George’s County Public School system. Troy graduated from Oxon Hill High School in June of 1994. He worked in various restaurants as a Server. He loved helping others. He would give his last dime or the shirt off his back for anyone. His father taught him to always be mindful of other’s needs. Never looking for anything in return, Troy became an Angel here on earth. His charge: to help when needed, to love unconditionally, to serve others. Even though Troy was not a millionaire, his generous heart spoke volumes.

Troy displayed a passion for music at a very young age. The piano and keyboard were his instruments of choice. He participated in piano lessons as a child. Although he was challenged with not being able to read/understand the notes on sheet music, that did not hinder him from playing. He continued to grow, nurture, and perfect his craft into adulthood. Troy’s musical gift allowed him to hear a song and play it note for note 2 minutes later.
Troy was an incredibly talented musician. In his early years, he was a musician for the Youth Choir of Gospel Spreading Church of God in Washington, D.C. He later joined High Calling Ministry where he was the keyboard musician for the Praise Team. From there he joined the Park View Baptist Church in Seat Pleasant, MD as their head musician. Music was his life, in his blood, and most importantly in his heart.

You could either find Troy playing his keyboard, working as a Server for restaurant establishments, spending time with friends playing Monopoly or Chess, watching a Married With Children episode, or spending time with family. His presence would always light up the room. Whether it was his infectious smile, his sarcastic jokes, or his unforgettable hug, Troy left you feeling like you were the most important person in the world. He truly loved you.
