YVONNE DAVIS-AUSTIN (BOOKER) OBITUARY
Yvonne Gladys Davis-Austin (Booker) of Bladensburg, Maryland passed peacefully in her home and entered eternal rest with God June 22, 2022.
Yvonne was the tenth child of thirteen children born to the late Joseph and Virgie D. Booker. She was born July 30, 1939 in Campbell County, Virginia which is now a part of the city of Lynchburg, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her dear parents: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Booker, Sr.; a beloved daughter, Vanessa J. Davis; her precious and only son, Isiah J. Davis; and siblings: Mrs. Corinne Jones, Mr. Joseph Booker Jr., Mr. Oscar Booker, Mr. Thomas Booker, Mrs. Cornelia Powell, Mrs. Ruth Swinson, Mrs. Othelia Johnson, and two sisters Jean and Claudine Booker who died as children.
Yvonne (also known as Weasel) was a private, very faithful, and committed mother and Christian who tried to do right. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters: Rosalyn Davis, Sheila Silas, Vivian Porter, and Nanette Riley (Nick); eight grandchildren: Joseph McAdoo, Sonia Silas, Tiffany Silas, Andrea Porter, Darius Davis, Sampson Stewart, Ethan Riley, and Dylan Riley; three siblings: Mrs. Claudette Booker-Harper, Ms. Loretta Booker, and Councilman Imam Alfred Mohammed; a favorite and loving niece, Ms. Veronica Mayo; and a very special and devoted friend, Ms. Emily Taylor; and many other family and friends.
There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 5th at 12:30pm with graveside services to follow at Heritage Memorial Cemetery located at 13472 Poplar Hill Road in Waldorf, Maryland.
